Our Instructors

Image of Gem Pilates Studio experienced Pilates instructor.

Shae began her movement journey as a dancer, spending many years training and later teaching at ballet and performing arts studios across Melbourne. After experiencing her own lower-back pain, she discovered Pilates in 2002, when dedicated Pilates studios were few and far between. The improvement she felt was immediate and life-changing, sparking a passion to become a qualified Pilates instructor.

She completed her first Pilates qualification in 2005 through the Australian Pilates Method Association (APMA) - an 18-month comprehensive rehabilitation-focused course featuring both theoretical instruction and applied clinical experience. Since that time, Shae has gained experience in a variety of private studios across Melbourne, consistently advancing her skills in injury rehabilitation through further education and specialised training.

In 2016, she completed a Bachelor of Primary Education at Deakin University and now spends two days a week teaching Physical Education. Shae loves introducing children to safe, confident movement and encouraging them to understand and care for their growing bodies.

After years of teaching and learning, and since moving to Gembrook in 2022, Shae is excited to bring her own Pilates space to this beautiful community - a calm, welcoming studio where locals can move with confidence, build strength and balance, and have fun along the way!
